Itinerary

For your 1-hour flight to Izmir, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the airport. Upon your arrival at Izmir Airport, an important city in Turkey, known as Smyrna in ancient times, you will be greeted and taken to Pergamum. Pergamum is an ancient acropolis, home to the Altar of Zeus and the Roman Medical Center of Asklepion. Later, you will be driven to Akhisar and visit Thyatira, a city of artisans’ guilds in St. Paul’s time. At the end of our tour, we will return to Izmir for an overnight stay.

Today, we will explore the ancient and spectacular city of Ephesus, known for its expansive synthesis of Greco-Roman and Christian remains. It was the home of St. Paul between 54 and 57 AD. Following Ephesus, we will visit The House of the Virgin Mary, a marvelous place hidden in the green, accompanied by our professional guides. Finally, we will stop at the restoration of St. John’s Basilica, where according to legend, he was buried. In the evening, we will proceed to Pamukkale, where we have the chance to explore an epic natural castle with its beautiful carbonate terraces and lime cascades of the Roman spa Hierapolis. Enjoy the warm mineral waters of your hotel's pool.

After breakfast, our journey will take us to Laodicea, an early center of Christianity and one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Following that, we will proceed to Philadelphia in Alasehir, a favorite city of Paul and John. Our next stop is Sardis, an extremely important ancient city and the capital of the Lydia Kingdom, featuring a beautiful gymnasium and marble-paved synagogue. After our tour, our guides will accompany you to the airport or your hotel in Izmir.
